A7 International Plans USDT-to-SWIFT Payment Service
A7, an international settlement system created with Russia’s Bank PSB, plans to unveil A7 International on 13 October 2026. The service will allow customers to pay foreign invoices in USDT, with recipients receiving a SWIFT bank transfer in the required currency. A7 says A7 International is aimed mainly at foreign trade businesses, though individuals can also use it, and will charge a fixed 0.3% fee.
Bank PSB chairman Petr Fradkov and A7 chief executive Ilan Shor are scheduled to present the service during a livestream at 13:13 on launch day. A7 says its network operates in more than 100 countries, processes around 2,000 transactions a day and handled about 19% of Russian companies’ cross-border trade settlements in 2025. The announcement was issued as sponsored material. It does not specify supported currencies, jurisdictions, transaction limits or the service’s operating arrangements. For USDT traders, the plan signals a potential cross-border payment use case, but no direct effect on the token’s price is evident.
Neutral
The announcement describes a possible payment use case for USDT, but it does not establish a direct link to greater demand for the token or a change in its market price. USDT is designed to track the US dollar, so adoption of a payment service would generally be more relevant to usage and settlement activity than to price appreciation. The stated 0.3% fee and A7’s claims about its network provide context, but the service’s operating arrangements and supported markets remain unspecified.
In the short term, the planned launch may attract attention to USDT’s role in cross-border payments, but traders have little confirmed information on volumes or access that would support a price-driven response. Over the longer term, actual uptake could increase USDT transfers and reinforce its utility in international settlements. However, that would not necessarily move USDT away from its dollar peg. Any material market effect would depend on verified launch details, transaction volumes, regulatory access and confidence in the service. The current price outlook for USDT is therefore neutral.
