OneKey Ends CryptoBilis Deal, Offers Free Replacements
OneKey has ended CryptoBilis’s authorised reseller status after Ledger confirmed that hardware wallets sold through the Southeast Asian seller contained unauthorised implants. OneKey is offering free replacement devices to customers who bought a OneKey wallet through CryptoBilis from March 1 to October 12, 2026. Applications close on December 31; customers do not need to return their original devices. The offer covers devices, not stolen funds.
OneKey says it has received no reports of customer losses, but is treating devices distributed through CryptoBilis as potentially compromised. It has paused appointments of new resellers and will review existing partners. Preliminary on-chain analysis estimates losses linked to affected devices at $86 million to $93.2 million, though Ledger says not all reported thefts have been tied to tampering. OneKey founder Yishi advises users to assume their recovery phrases may be exposed and move funds to a wallet with a newly generated phrase. The incident highlights hardware-wallet supply-chain risk and may reinforce scrutiny of crypto security practices.
Neutral
The incident concerns hardware-wallet security and reseller controls, not the fundamentals or price outlook of a specific cryptocurrency. It could prompt short-term caution among users and traders, particularly around self-custody and device provenance, but no direct token-price effect is identified in the reports. In the longer term, stronger partner reviews and wallet replacement measures may help contain confidence risks. Because no cryptocurrency with a trading price is directly implicated, the expected price impact is neutral.
